About Cheryl Marie Wright
Designer, Maker, and Founder of Myth and Bloom
The Story
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to beauty — not the polished kind, but the kind that happens quietly: when light falls across paper, when ink runs where it chooses, when something imperfect becomes whole.
My creative life began more than twenty-five years ago in the world of graphic design. From there, my path has wandered — through art direction, interior styling, make-up artistry, and creative wellbeing — each chapter teaching me something new about colour, light, transformation, and the way beauty shapes emotion.
Over time, all these threads began to weave together, forming what would become Myth and Bloom: a studio rooted in the belief that art and wellbeing are intertwined — that creativity itself can be an act of care.
The Practice
Alongside my creative work, I’m completing a Master’s in Psychology, exploring how art, nature, and science can support calm, recovery, and self-expression.
Much of Myth and Bloom is informed by this research — the neuroscience of flow and awe, the psychology of journalling and sleep, and the wellbeing power of biophilia: our innate connection to the living world.
My work draws on the wisdom of thinkers old and new — Jung and Maslow, Csikszentmihalyi and Cameron, Lovelock and Frankl — blending ancient symbolism with modern understanding. Through this lens, I explore how myth, ritual, and creativity can bring balance to our increasingly fast and fractured world.
The Philosophy
For me, art making is a journey, not a destination. It’s about the flow, the awe, and the quiet joy of watching something grow beneath your hands.
The beauty is not in the outcome but in the becoming — in losing yourself to the process and finding calm in the movement of colour, wax, paper, or scent.
Each candle, journal, and page blooms with a maker’s care — a reminder that slow creation, like nature itself, has its own rhythm.
Through making, we rediscover presence; through presence, we begin to heal.
The Intention
Myth and Bloom is more than a studio. It’s a living practice — a meeting of art, psychology, and nature, designed to help others find pause, purpose, and beauty in the everyday.
I hope the things I make — the journals, the papers, the scent and light — offer small invitations to breathe, to notice, and to create.
Because when we make with intention, we bloom — quietly, honestly, and together.

🌿 Optional Epilogue (for footer or sidebar)
“To create is to listen — to light, to colour, to the whisper of our own curiosity. That’s where Myth and Bloom began, and where it continues to grow.”
